Beauty Beheld

Photography for me has always been a tool to capture the magic I see in life; to take the majesty of life and frame it.

I share photographs for the same reason I share writing:
In the hopes that my view on life will inspire more
love, admiration, and gratitude for existence,
and in doing so open hearts to possibility, joy, and healing.

May you find the beauty of life beheld through my lens.

Sometimes I feel lost in my own life, as if my map is missing. I feel like I’m walking forward, always slightly missing my mark. Right now though, I’m spot on. To answer Mary Oliver’s question: “what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” I think I’m quite happy to say “exactly this.” I’m sitting on top of a giant rock in the ocean at 11:17 on a nearly full moon. With this I am full of life, content to my heart’s desire, and loving myself and the world around me.

Live your dreams always in the now and stop for no one. If you must go it alone, do so, for it means you’ve stepped onto your own path through life. Howl and your pack will come.

“A child can teach an adult three things: to be happy for no reason, to always be busy with something, and to know how to demand with all his might that which he desires.” - Paulo Coelho

The last light is leaving me, and the last bird is calling its song. Soon, the darkness will be all encompassing, and I will welcome sleep. It has been a powerful + freezing day in which I once more realized how powerful a choice it is to live my life as I choose to…

I woke up in the middle of nowhere to a wondrous sunrise. The birds are singing. I hear chickadees I think. In the distance is a snow capped peak. It’s amazing up here; even the trees are beautiful. It’s a pure pine forest for miles. The sun just started to drench the south face of the mountain to my right with red light. The world is waking up. I am so grateful to be here and to have what I have.
